"Locus Native Food Lab" is a restaurant located in a serene area within Pa Sak Thong Hotel, Mueang district, Chiang Rai province.Pa Sak Thong Hotel itself is a luxury estate in Chiang Rai, offering a private, serene, and exclusive retreat. With dedicated staff, you can expect unparalleled privacy and attentive service, making it one of Northern Thailand's finest destinations.

Founded by the talented and passionate Chef Kongwuth Chaiwongkachon in the year 2016, the restaurant's core mission is to bring traditional Northern Thai cuisine to the forefront in a contemporary and innovative way. At "Locus Native Food Lab," every dish is an artistic representation of the region's culinary treasures. The chef's vision is to ensure that while embracing modern food trends, the essence and authenticity of Northern Thai cuisine remain intact and celebrated.

Starting from January 2024, our restaurant will offer a set menu comprised of 10-12 thoughfully crafted courses. Three of the courses will highlight fresh,locally-sourced seasonal ingredients. This culinary journey promises both a memorable dining experience and a delightful touch of the season's flavors.

Chef Kong's culinary journey started with formal training at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Dusit, where he honed his skills in both savory and pastry techniques. Under the tutelage of the esteemed Chef Pruek Samphanthaworaboot (famed as an Iron Chef Thailand), Chef Kong gained valuable insights and expertise.

 

Before establishing "Locus Native Food Lab," Chef Kong worked at the distinguished Dara Devi Hotel in Chiang Mai, where he immersed himself in the art of Japanese cuisine—both traditional and contemporary. This exposure not only broadened his culinary horizons but also infused his approach to Northern Thai cuisine with innovative elements that complement the region's age-old recipes.

Adding to his impressive skill set, Chef Kong  is now a certified sommelier, having achieved the coveted title of Certified Sommelier from the esteemed Court of Master Sommeliers. This exceptional achievement enhances the dining experience at "Locus Native Food Lab," as guests can savor the seamless harmony of flavors achieved through expert food and wine pairings.

With Chef Kong's remarkable talent and his team's dedication to crafting unforgettable dining experiences, "Locus Native Food Lab" has become a culinary destination in Chiang Rai.
